OPD

We're at it again!

Devin is applying for a job at the Ogden, Utah Police Department:)

Which means if he makes it we will be moving!  again..  But back to Devin's mountains and hunting and family of course:) Which will be fabulous!!!!  I am absolutely excited but trying not to show it... or get too excited in case something doesn't work out but! Fabulous news! It is all going according to plan:) 

First step - Apply and get all the info 

CHECK

Second step - Written test

CHECK and PASSED

Third Step - PT test

CHECK AND PASSED(no sweat)(literally...)

Fourth step - Oral Board/Interview

CHECK and PASSED!

They even commented on his nice suit, I guess some showed up in their casual clothes. It was another test, they didn't tell them what to wear they just waited to see what people would do. 

Fifth step-Background Check/Transcripts/Credit check/Driving history/1 more test

The deadline is JAN 4!! 

They have eliminated people throughout and we are down to 58 others that think they have a chance:)  I guess there are 5-8 open slots right now and then they are going to keep a running list for throughout the year to choose people from. Our chances are great! (and now that I think of it we don't know how many got eliminated after the oral board!)

Village Inn with my besties:)

I go up to Utah once a month for drill and while I was up there last Joe, Jake, Emily and me all went out to Village Inn at like 10:00pm :)  It was fun! We got hot chocolate and amazing breakfast. I am thinking we should make it a tradition!

Spontaneous Camping Trip:)

The weather here is now PERFECT.  So Devin and I decided to go camping!  I worked on Tuesday till about 8 o' clock and we left that night!  

Devin was excited to go night shooting:)  

I stayed in the truck while he was shooting.  The baby can't wear earpro! so... I stayed in where the sound was muffled. I know I'm a worry wart but I'm realizing why most mom's are:)

We slept in the back of the truck!  How terribly romantic huh:)  I love it, That has been on my bucket list for a long time and next time we are taking a air mattress.  I'm not that hardcore and sleeping on just those foam mats... was not so awesome. 

We had to have the flash on for the pictures and it was just too bright... haha so this is what we got!  

Moving!

We moved!  We did love our roach friends... but we figured they needed their space:)   I figure everyone has at least one roach house experience and it just makes you appreciate the roach-less houses all the more!  We actually are keeping a family tradition going too!  Derek and Janel used to live in these same apartments!  And Devin's dad and Michelle I believe and there was someone else.. but we have some heritage here! haha. Plus they have a washer and dryer inside! I feel like royalty:)  The only thing is I don't understand why Arizona doesn't build houses with light fixtures! I realize it's the valley and land of the sun but seriously, our apartment is so dark! and they still put the switches just to throw you off..  We did it all in about a week too, that seems to be our signature thing, moving in the shortest and most surprising time possible!  We did it all in about 2 days, With the help of Michelle and her kids and Andrew and Lanae, Devin's friend and his wife from high school.  I got completely lost trying to drive there for the first time by myself... I ended up in Queen Creek!  the opposite side of the valley... but I made it:)  Thanks to Siri.  And we ordered pizza and it was pretty quick and painless for the most part.

1 YEAR!

I'm realizing I didn't put anything up about our anniversary!  It was pretty exciting, Devin worked.. I stayed home and did... nothing.  Then when he got home he surprised me with a gift and a sweet letter:)  I love those!  I can't even believe it's been a year but then at the same time I feel like it's been this way for a lot longer than a year:)  We have done so many things since we got married

Firstly

We moved to a different state!  Within about 4 days too, we had to have set some world record with that.

Second

Devin has had 3 jobs.. haha well that is if you count him workin' at the family business off and on right when we got married. I have had just one job.

Thirdly

We found out we're having a baby!  I think maybe this one should be first... definitely a life changer. 

Fourth..

Hmm maybe not soo many things, just some really really big things.  And there are only more to be added..

I don't think I could have found a more amazing(or handsome!) husband. He makes my life wonderful, I wouldn't have it any other way!

I figure when you've seen one baby belly you've seen them all but here is mine!  pretty simple:)  We are farther than halfway now but the belly still looks fairly similar.. if anything a tad rounder! I measured at 24 cm for my 'fundal' height on Wednesday so we know he's growing!

We are 25 weeks today.

only 3 months to go! 

In fact there are 105 days till the due date!

On Thursday Devin graduated from the DO academy for Maricopa County! 

 It was 9 grueling weeks of PT and learning how to shoot a Taser and see what it was like to go swimming in OC spray, very intense pepper spray..  He was crying for a few days after that adventure.  They also did something call REDMAN.  The biggest guy they can find gets all suited up with pads and a helmet all the color red and then they fight to the death! Well, not quite to the death but they don't go easy from what I heard and while they were practicing Devin got punched in the face and as he was blocking it his finger went into his eye   it looked scary, he looked like a cyborg for a week. I am kicking myself for not getting a picture...  But now Devin is ready for anything that Maricopa county jails will throw at him.  At the graduation ceremony they gave out awards for the best PT and highest academic scores and Devin only took 3 of the 4 awards. :)  For his academic he was at 93%  and the PT.. He got the best score. I forget what they said it was. They ran a mile and a half and sprinted 400 meters and did as many push ups and sit ups as they could and jumped vertically as high as they could.  Then he got awarded the Overall Top Recruit.

He did amazing! 

He doesn't drink Martinelli's for celebration...  (No carbonation)  so I had to improvise with chocolate:)

HALFWAY!

Sometimes I just can't even imagine how people go through this twice or 7 times!  It takes forever...  and I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, but I guess I just need to enjoy the journey :)

Total Weight Gain: 12 pounds... Yikes!  and the baby is only 10 oz of that! lovely.

Stretch Marks?: Nothin!
Sleep: I could sleep all day! but then night comes and I just can't sleep...

Best Moment This Week: I popped!  People are actually asking if I am pregnant now! haha and I got to hear his heartbeat at work(the perks of working at a hospital) and it was at 183!

Food Cravings: Mmm bread sticks. But then there aren't really too many cravings I am just starving! 

Anything make you sick?:  I can't eat spam... or hamburger.. 

Happy or Moody? I am still happy! :)  I just have a very tender heart, and I could cry on cue.

Excited for?: Um.. I don't really know this week.

16 week ultra sound

The arrow helps, I had no idea what I was looking at until she added that in there, but that definitely points to a boy! The ultra sound tech said she'd bet the farm on it.

Kinda scary... Can you see the eyes? and the forehead? and he already has a nice round belly!  He must get that from his daddy;)

 An arm and a leg! At least we know he has one of each!

18 weeks

Wow that flew by!..  I missed a couple weeks but no worries 16 and 17 were pretty much the same :)

Total Weight Gain: 7 pounds! Oh gosh...  that seems like so many and I'm not even half way...

Maternity Clothes?: Yes! Well Jeans, a must!

Stretch Marks?: Nope!  You'll know they showed up when this question disappears...
Sleep: I could sleep all day! but then when I go to sleep at night... I wake up and think about all the things I need to do or monsters and the grudge. Thats always good.

Best Moment This Week: We found out it's a boy!!! We are super excited:)  I work at a hospital so I got a sneak peek.  Our favorite name right now is David Teancum Taylor.

Movement: YES! finally! I love it:)  Devin can't feel it yet but I think that should be soon!  Sometimes it really catches me off guard and I don't know whether to be excited or nervous that there is something growing in there!

Food Cravings: Still with the apples. Apple anything, especially if they are a little sour like how a apple tastes when you pick it right off the tree. Mmm mm. and cereal, I could eat cereal allll day long, preferably apple jacks;)  

Anything make you sick?: Nothing too noticeable this week... sometimes I have no appetite and then sometimes I eat twice as much as Devin!

Happy or Moody? Happy!  except the ridiculous tender heart I have, anything could make me cry and sometimes it does... I know I'm pathetic but it could be worse right?  

Excited for?: Feeling more movement!  and having it be a regular thing:)

9 week Ultra Sound!

I totally forgot to include this in one of my last posts so here's this!  We'll have some updated ones shortly:)  These are a month and a half old..

Uncles and Aunts all around.

I sent my family a little treasure hunt package telling them they were gonna be Uncles! and my mom videoed it!  It's really cute, except my sister was at young women's camp.. But she already knew anyways:)  After they were done, my little brother Isaac said "So now everyone's an Uncle! Uncle Nate, Uncle Joe, Uncle Mom... " haha

Week 15

Baby Update

We are at Week 15!

Total Weight Gain: 1 pound! 

Maternity Clothes?: Mmm I did get some maternity jeans but they are still much too big, I'm just excited!  and I just wear a white tee shirt with a baggy tank top over, because for right now it just looks like I ate a thanksgiving feast for lunch...

Stretch Marks:None, yet... knock on wood. 

Sleep: I dread sleeping... everything hurts when I lie down. and I usually wake up around 2 or 3 feeling like I'm gonna puke.

Best Moment This Week: I actually am noticing a bump now! And it's always fun talking about names. Devin likes Tiberius.. I told him we could get a German Shepard and name him Tiberius :) We definitely like the name David and Teancum, so we've put them together for a David Teancum Taylor, manly right? I like it.  Girl wise.. we've got, Calli. Haha it's still a work in progress.

Movement: Mmm I swear I feel something sometimes but nothing very noticeable yet.

Food Cravings: Apples! in every shape and form, applesauce, apple juice, apple flavored things, or just cut up and dipped in yogurt. anything else is just very random like the other day we had waffles for breakfast and I seriously ate 9 waffles... I couldn't get enough! and we occasionally run to the store to get things. This week it was for sherbet and sprite, and reeces puffs cereal:) 

Anything make you sick?: Hamburger... I can only eat a little or nothing.. and avocado textured things..

Happy or Moody? Happy! I think:) maybe Dev would tell you other things.. but I do get emotional for silly things like we went and saw Brave.. aw that was a tear jerker for me:) and just those save this homeless puppy commercials... they get me crying too easily..

Excited for?: Finding out if it's a boy or girl! then we can start planning more things:)  and we really need to move...

Our Family Will Be Growing By 2 Feet!

On June 22, while I was in Utah for my Army AT, I decided to take a pregnancy test and I was really calm not worried at all I just didn't really think it was the answer...  My friend Ilse, she's in my unit, went with me to purchase the test and... the thing said I was half pregnant?  Why did I buy the cheap ones???  the ones that get either one or two lines, one means you're not prego and two means you are! I had one line really show up and other one not so much... in this moment I just NEEDED to know. So I took another, and another, and same deal, half ways in between.

See! That second line is barely there... What was I supposed to think? So I sent a picture this picture to one of my good friends who has done this a few times and all she said was "Congratulations!!".  I was terrified! But then I went and told Devin and he made it all better, then I was excited cause he was excited:) He is going to be a wonderful Daddy. I told my mom first of course, so I got her a little treat and then I folded up a piece of paper and wrote Congratulations on it and I wrote Grandma on the inside:) She got it. And she cried but she has definitely had the most fun telling people and being excited to be the latest and greatest young mother of a daughter who is pregnant:) This is number 19 I believe for Devin's parents so he said he didn't need to do anything fun and he just told them.. he's a party pooper sometimes..  And I haven't been very good about spillin' the beans to anyone else so.. surprise!  Baby Taylor due February 22, 2013 and we should be finding out if its a boy or girl in 2 or 3 weeks at our halfway mark! 

Camping?

Me and Dev decided we were going to go camping just for one night somewhere close to check out what Arizona has to offer.. It turned out to be a 4 and half hour camping trip...  We got to the place we found on google maps

 

and we made it there and found a shady spot to park the truck for the night then we started our hike to see if we could find any critters and there were tons of hawks! Devin used his coyote call once and there were like 9 that started circling us till they found us out.  There were also tons of millions of cacti... Good heavens there was tons we had to stop every once in a while to de-prickle ourselves and we tried to go in a straight line but if was more of a zigzag all over the place... so we hiked back the the truck and just sat in the back enjoyed the sweltering heat. Then Devin asked ''So what do you want to do?'' haha I didn't know what to say... I was just being smart and said I'd love to go swimming. knowing there wasn't a pool for miles, but he said that was a great idea and so we started for home and went swimming! Serious.  We had all this fun camping food and I didn't want it to go to waste and I was really looking forward to s'mores... So we made them at home! We're going to search for a new place... probably one farther north..

Round 2!

Today Devin went to a Maricopa County Orientation, Joe Arpaio's county! and guess how many people were there....  1,395 applications! Oh my stars, Dev said he definitely has his work cut out for him! BUT, it is for the whole county and like 5 different positions.. so maybe his chances are a little better that 1,395 to 1. I'm crossing my fingers!

I Heart You

So I found this great idea!  yes... pinterest... Anyway it is these super cute little hearts that you make out of fabric with a little fluff inside, so like a little pillow! And then! you hide them for someone to find and give them a jar with one inside so they know what to look for and a little note that says something like: Every time you find a heart remember how much I love you! Then you can keep your hearts in this fancy jar.  (It was a salsa jar that I had cleaned:) It was perfect!)

 So I made some for Dev and I got camo fabric! of course the pinterest ones had cute fabric but that just would not be as exciting :)

And I have sewn them all by hand! My sewing machine has permanent hiccups.. :(  Like it plays the stop go game and I can't handle it.. Not a huge project though I just did like 2 a day till I had about 10 hearts and I want to make more! its so fun to hide them:)
